With the Women Wednesday series, CatMax Photography introduces you to exceptional female entrepreneurs who have gone through the CatMax Personal Branding Experience. Today, I invite you to meet Beth Moffatt and Paige Risley of We Recruit Well.

Paige Risley and Beth Moffatt have the unique experience of having been in the shoes of the candidates they find to help their clients. The pair of former schoolteachers decided to become virtual assistants before many people knew such roles existed. Fast forward to today, and through their business, We Recruit Well, they now help entrepreneurs find professionals to fill various remote and hybrid positions.

In a world where recruiting services are abundant, Beth and Paige have set themselves apart. The differentiating features they offer are based purely on a desire to see their clients succeed. In addition to assisting with creating the job description, conducting the candidate search, and carrying out initial interviews, Paige and Beth also help business owners smoothly integrate a new hire over multiple months. They go beyond reviewing résumés and references, opting to incorporate personality tests (think The Enneagram of Personality assessment) for both clients and candidates as well. Furthermore, their services come with a flat fee, not a subscription.

The idea to establish their own firm was planted after taking on leadership positions at the same staffing agency they began with as virtual assistants. “I worked in talent acquisition, and Beth worked in client relations. It was the perfect background for starting our own business,” says Paige. The duo realized they could provide next-level service and knew they had the tools and experience to do so.

Most importantly, they are passionate about what they do. “There is nothing more satisfying than knowing we have provided relief to an incredibly busy and overwhelmed business owner. We also find great satisfaction when we help someone find the perfect job with a boss they really ‘click’ with,” says Beth.

Their commitment to helping businesses excel is something they’ve had to lean on while embracing unfamiliar aspects of running a company. Paige says, “Neither of us has any sales experience in our background. We started out thinking we had to have a salesperson to be successful. It didn’t take us long to realize we were selling ourselves—and who better to do that than us?” Beth and Paige have gained their sales footing over time and are proud of the progress they continue to make.

Learning, just as they have, is something Paige and Beth recommend up-and-coming entrepreneurs always do. “Maybe it’s our background as teachers, but we really love learning new things and figuring out how to use them to make us and our business better,” says Beth. “Aspiring entrepreneurs need to understand this; growing your business means growing as a leader. If you aren’t willing to continue learning, you shouldn’t be leading.”

Though the pair brings different strengths to their company, they wouldn’t want it any other way. “I love all the behind-the-scenes processes, and Beth shines when it comes to interacting with our clients and potential candidates,” says Paige. They note that these differences complement each other splendidly and allow them to be stronger together.

While Beth and Paige are obviously the backbones of their business, they say before their Personal Branding Experience with CatMax Photography, you never would have known that from what you saw online. “Our social media and website had almost no photos of us, and we ARE We Recruit Well! We are so excited to start using our photos and show people the real Beth and Paige,” says Beth.

The duo says the experience with CatMax Photography was a breeze and encourages other entrepreneurs to set aside the time and funds for a branding photo shoot. “As a business owner, you are the face of your business, and your clients want to know you; they want to connect. Their desire is to see your passion for what you do. Catrina captures that in every photo. She takes the time to set the scene, make you comfortable, and then capture the real you,” says Paige.
